Don’t own a Piano or Keyboard yet? We can help you! Ask us about the ins and outs about renting or purchasing a piano or keyboard – we have lots of experience in choosing and maintaining pianos.
You may initially choose to purchase an electric piano or keyboard, in which case we highly recommend that your electric keyboard have 88 weighted keys in order to simulate the touch of a real acoustic instrument. The nuance and tone of how a piano piece is being played is essential to express the full potential of the composers work. Another option is to obtain an acoustic upright, baby-grand or full grand piano. This can be a substantial investment in time, effort and money. As any piano will require tuning at least once a year from a professional tuner, it pays to make the right choice from the start. You can benefit from our teachers experience when making this choice. For example, upright pianos can be a great option for both their value and compact size, but always ensure they have an iron frame or you may find yourself frequently off key! Grand pianos are majestic, they sound more powerful and are the true concert instrument – but you need both the space and the aptitude to make this investment in a piano worthwhile. Your teacher may well advise that the best way of obtaining a practice instrument initially is to do so “modestly,” either on Craigslist or Amazon and to reserve choosing a better piano for later on as the aptitude level of the pupil improves… We are here to help you! Feel free to ask our staff about the best option for you and your family.

Policies and Procedures:
Our private lessons are $33 /30min, $49.50 /45min, $66 /60min instruction. We recommend beginner students start off at 30 minute weekly lessons. As students’ abilities and goals progress, we can increase the lesson time length upon request. We are currently offering both online and in-person lessons to best accommodate our students' and parent's schedules.
We prorate our fees from September through June so that you pay an equal monthly amount. Holidays and breaks have been accounted for and excluded from the calculation already. Your monthly tuition amount will vary depending on which day of the week the lessons are scheduled on, since some days have more statutory holidays than others.
Tuition is due on the first of each month; we accept payment by preauthorized Visa or MasterCard, debit, cash, E-transfer and post-dated cheques. A yearly one-time charge of $30.00 per student will be due upon signing up to cover registration fees.
Most families find it is easiest to leave a credit card on file with us so our autopay system can automatically charge your card each month. Otherwise, tuition can be paid however is most convenient for you! Typically, we send receipts via email upon request after a payment has been made. Please note, a late fee of $35.00 will be added to any tuition that remains outstanding for 1 week past due, and trial classes which are missed with no prior notice are subject to a "no-show" fee of $33 per half-hour lesson.
We offer up to 3 make-up lessons per school year for notified absences (24hrs in advance), which must be made up by August of that year. Our teachers are more than happy to do lessons online via Zoom or Facetime if an in-person class is going to be missed due to sickness. We ask that students, parents or guardians reach out to us by phone, email or text notifying us of any absences, a student not arriving for the lesson after 15 minutes with no notice is considered a "no-show" and is unable to count towards a make-up class. Makeup lessons that are missed are not able to be rescheduled.
We have a 2 month minimum enrolment policy, and a 1 month cancellation policy to terminate lessons. Lessons cannot be cancelled at the end of the school year in May or June. We require written confirmation for cancellation. *We do not offer pause in the schedule, if you need to take an extended leave, please cancel your classes and contact us when ready to return*
